The primary advantage of the centrifugal casting process is its increase in yield over static casting or gravity casting. Most Casting that can be made using the centrifugal process doesn't need gates and risers, which results in better material utilization or yield. Eliminating gates and risers also reduces cleaning time. Using permanent moulds to centrifugally cast a part considerably reduces moulding time, core making and setting time. These permanent steel moulds can be used over and over again and can have a very long life.Higher yields have a side benefit of incresing foundary furnace capacity without adding furnaces.Also,because less metal is being poured to make a casting,associated melt operating costs are reduced.
